Connie, I’m on the East Coast and have the opposite problem of West Coasters wanting to do sessions when it is evening here. I don’t mind so much as that means my husband is home, neighbors are mowing lawns etc. I try as best I can to stick to normal business hours (mostly for my own mental health) but am not bothered too much by the occasional weekend emergency. It seems to be part of our career choice. :o)

I’ll get your back J.S. Although I have to admit, I don’t get the 3 AM calls. The AM emails do come in, but most people on the other side of the world seem to recognize the time difference. People on the East Coast don’t.

One of my largest clients is on the East Coast, and I do have clients in Europe and Asia and one in an Arctic Outpost. No, actually I don’t have any clients in Arctic Outposts, but I’m working on it. I do get sent emails at all hours of the day and night, but few phone calls, and I’ve rarely found any of the overseas accounts or my East Coast accounts require my attention much before 9am Pacific Time, or after 8pm Pacific Time.

I’m not sure how I would respond to constant demands on my time of a 24-7 nature, but I do know that nobody wants to record me at 7am. Most sane people wouldn’t want to talk to me until around 10am.

But at least I know what to do if somebody happens to wake me from my slumber at 3am; just give them Connie’s number and then hang up and go back to sleep
